Photopaddles were originally conceived for the self produced design exhibition "The Promise Of This Moment. Objects that augment the every day" which took place in Chicago in June, 2009.
Promise of this moment was a collaborative show produced and curated by The Mighty Bearcats Collective and the Object Design League. 14 designers were asked to create work based on "the lipstick effect". In other words, objects which increase in sales during times of recession. This group of small household objects was designed to create temporary relief or happiness within the banal tasks of the average day.
